Prosecution launched in PVC case, former General Director Vu Duc Thuan arrested.
The police have decided to initiate a criminal case: Deliberately violating state regulations on economic management causing serious consequences at PVC and its member units.
The Investigation Police Department (C46) of the Ministry of Public Security is conducting an investigation to clarify the wrongdoings that led to losses of nearly 3,300 billion VND at the Vietnam Petroleum Construction Joint Stock Corporation (PVC).

On September 15, 2016, the Investigation Police Department of the Ministry of Public Security issued a decision to initiate a criminal case: Deliberately violating state regulations on economic management causing serious consequences, under Article 163 of the Penal Code, occurring at the Vietnam Petroleum Construction Joint Stock Corporation and its member units.
Simultaneously, a decision was made to prosecute four defendants, including:
1. Vu Duc Thuan, former member of the Board of Directors and General Director;
2. Nguyen Manh Tien, Deputy General Director;
3. Truong Quoc Dung, former Deputy General Director;
4. Pham Tien Dat, former chief accountant of PVC
Regarding the crime of intentionally violating state regulations on economic management causing serious consequences, as stipulated in Article 165 of the Penal Code.
Simultaneously, arrest warrants and search warrants were issued for the four aforementioned suspects.
The Police Investigation Agency of the Ministry of Public Security is urgently conducting an investigation and expanding the case.
