Forest fires in Dien Chau district have been successfully brought under control.

According to information from the Dien Chau district authorities, the forest fire in Dien Phu commune was successfully brought under control at around 7 PM on July 13th. This was a tremendous effort by the local government, functional forces, and the people, preventing the fire from spreading in the dark of night, which would have made firefighting extremely difficult if it had occurred.

During the fire, Dien Chau district directed forces to clear firebreaks and use tools such as branches, machetes, fire beaters, and blowers to extinguish the blaze. They also notified and mobilized residents to evacuate areas near the forest and deployed personnel to guard residential houses to prevent the fire from spreading.

The successful control of the fire was due not only to the efforts of the local authorities but also to the enthusiastic support and assistance of forces such as the Dien Thanh Border Guard Station, the District Police, the Dien Chau District Military Command, the Mobile Forest Protection Team, the Regional Forest Protection Department 2, Nghi Loc District... and forces from 5 neighboring communes including: Dien An, Dien Trung, Dien Thinh, Dien Loc, and Dien Loi.

Although the fire has been extinguished, Dien Chau district continues to direct forces to monitor and put out embers to prevent the fire from reigniting, especially since this is a pine forest area with thick undergrowth, posing a high risk.

The extent of the damage caused by the fire is currently being assessed, and the cause is being investigated by the authorities.

The Steering Committee for the Sustainable Forestry Development Program of Nghe An province for the period 2021-2025 warns that the forest fire risk level in Nghe An has reached level 5, the extremely dangerous level, by July 15th. Therefore, localities with forest areas need to proactively implement strict forest fire prevention and control measures to prevent forest fires during the peak season.
