Previously, information appeared on social networks about a person being hospitalized due to an allergic reaction after eating sea fish. The information spread and caused many people to panic.
According to Nghe An Newspaper, at 1:30 a.m. on April 22, the Department of Emergency Resuscitation, Vinh City General Hospital received patient Truong Nhu La (born in 1965, residing in Chau Hung block, Vinh Tan ward, Vinh City) in a state of rash (especially on the face and neck), itching, mouth ulcers, unable to swallow, stable blood pressure.

Mrs. Le Thi Mo (born in 1972), the patient's wife, said: On the afternoon of April 20, she bought 5 mackerel fish at Vinh market to cook. During the meal, Mrs. Mo and her 2 children ate 2 fish, Mr. La did not eat. At around 12 midnight, because he felt short of breath, Mr. La ate rice with fish to take medicine. After that, Mr. La took 2 anti-asthma pills.
By the next morning, Mr. La's face and neck were swollen, covered with a thick rash, and ulcers were forming inside his mouth and throat. Mr. La was taken to a private facility by his family for an IV, then given an injection and anti-edema medication. At midnight on April 21, Mr. La had chest tightness, difficulty breathing, a sore throat and could not swallow, and the thick rash spread to his chest and back, so he was taken to the hospital.

Doctor Nguyen Duc Thang said: Through clinical diagnosis, we confirm that the patient is allergic and not poisoned, because there are no symptoms of poisoning such as high fever, stomach ache, vomiting...
Currently, after 5 days of treatment, patient Truong Nhu La's health is recovering, vital signs are stable, and the rash is fading.
Doctor Thang also added: It is worth noting that in addition to Mr. La, there were 3 other family members who also ate mackerel braised in the same pot but showed no symptoms. |
