The qualifying round of the 2024 National U13 Youth Football Tournament - Yamaha Cup will take place from June 5 to June 22, 2024 with the participation of 38 youth football teams (U13) from 30 provinces and cities nationwide. The qualifying round is divided into 3 competition regions: The Northern region will compete from June 5 to June 16, 2024 in Bac Giang province; the Central region will compete from June 8 to June 19, 2024 in Quang Nam province; the Southern region will compete from June 12 to June 22, 2024 in Binh Duong province.

In the Central region, there are 9 teams participating, including SHB Da Nang, Binh Dinh, Hue, Hong Linh Ha Tinh, Hoang Anh Gia Lai, Phu Yen, Song Lam Nghe An, Quang Ngai and host Quang Nam, divided into 2 groups to select 5 teams with the best results to enter the final round.

Participating in the 2024 National U13 tournament, U13 Song Lam Nghe An is led by coach Le Van Hung, along with assistants Nguyen Tien Quang, Ho Viet Ha and Pham Huy Thong. In the qualifying round, U13 Song Lam Nghe An is in group B with the teams: SHB Da Nang, Hue, Hong Linh Ha Tinh and Quang Ngai.

After 3 matches in the qualifying round, U13 Song Lam Nghe An won all. Specifically: 2-0 win over U13 Hue, with a double from Thai Ba Bao Hoang; 4-0 win over U13 Hong Linh Ha Tinh, the players who scored were Nguyen Van Hoang, Bui Thai Manh, Hoang Gia Huy and Nguyen Van Vinh; 2-0 win over SHB Da Nang, Nguyen Van Hoang and Thai Ba Bao Hoang were the players who scored.

Thus, although there is still one final match taking place on the afternoon of June 18 against U13 Quang Ngai, with 3 consecutive wins, U13 Song Lam Nghe An has officially passed the qualifying round with the first position in Group B of the Central region.

Previously, U11 Song Lam Nghe An also officially passed the 2024 National U11 qualifying round. Coach Nguyen Quang Tho's team won all 3 matches with scores of 5-0, 7-0, 4-0 against U11 SHB Da Nang, U11 Kon Tum and U11 Phu Yen.

It can be affirmed that, after the scandals in 2023, Song Lam Nghe An has conducted a cleanup and strictly controlled the age of players. Specifically, all records and documents of U11 and U13 athletes participating in the 2024 National U11 and U13 tournaments were sent by the club to the Nghe An Department of Justice for verification and strict inspection before registering to compete in the tournament.

The final round of the 2024 National U13 tournament will be held in Buon Ma Thuot city, Dak Lak province from July 1 to July 15, 2024 with the participation of 16 excellent youth football teams (U13).

Meanwhile, the Final Round of the 2024 National U11 Tournament will be held at the Bac Ninh Multi-purpose Gymnasium, Bac Ninh City, Bac Ninh Province, from July 24 to August 6, 2024.
