The Truong Sa space will be coming to the Da Lat Flower Festival.

A vibrant and impressive replica of Truong Sa (Spratly Islands) made of stone and flowers will appear at the 5th Da Lat Flower Festival, taking place in the last days of 2013 and welcoming the new year 2014.

According to the Organizing Committee of the 2013 Lam Dong Provincial Culture and Festival Week, this year's Da Lat Flower Festival will also feature flower displays such as "Fragrance of the Central Highlands" (Le Dai Hanh Street - Ong Dao Bridge), "Beautiful Garden" (Xuan Huong Lake); a flower exhibition at the City Flower Garden; the Da Lat flower market (Nguyen Van Cu Street); and activities at the two flower villages of Van Thanh and Thai Phien.

The flower and ornamental plant exhibition at Da Lat City Flower Garden is one of the main programs not only of the Flower Festival but also a highlight of the series of events in the 2013 Lam Dong Province Culture and Festival Week, including the 1st Vietnam-ASEAN UNESCO Heritage Festival, the 120th anniversary of Da Lat's formation and development, the 5th Da Lat Flower Festival, and the opening of the 2014 National Tourism Year of the Central Highlands - Da Lat.

A new feature of this year's flower exhibition is the appearance of a miniature Trường Sa (Spratly Islands) rock landscape, created to serve the public and tourists, while also contributing to raising awareness about Trường Sa and Vietnam's sovereignty over its seas and islands. The Trường Sa rock landscape features symbols of the islands and sovereignty markers made of stone and decorated with high-quality commercial poinsettia flowers. Red poinsettias form the background of the flag, and yellow poinsettias create the star, making the image of the national flag stand out amidst a sea of ​​flowers.

The flower exhibition also features many renovated and upgraded sections, such as the flower plaza, the fairytale garden under ancient trees, the rhododendron hill, and a flower display area with approximately 10,000 exhibits and works of art related to flowers, greenery, ornamental plants, and bonsai. Within the framework of the exhibition, numerous competitions for flowers, ornamental plants, bonsai, rock gardens, decorative stones, and ornamental birds are also held.

The main activities of the 2013 Lam Dong Province Culture and Festival Week in general, and the 5th Da Lat Flower Festival in particular, will take place simultaneously over 5 days, from December 27th to 31st. The official opening ceremony of the "4-in-1" festival week will be held on the evening of December 27th at Lam Vien Square - the center of Da Lat city.

On the morning of the same day, the flower and ornamental plant exhibition will be inaugurated at Da Lat Flower Garden, marking the beginning of the events of this much-anticipated festival week.
