According to the Central Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting Center, a cold front is currently moving southward in the northern part of Vietnam.

Forecasts indicate that around late afternoon and night tomorrow (December 29th), this cold air mass will affect the northeastern provinces, then the northwestern provinces, the North Central region, and some areas in the Central Central region.

Due to the influence of a cold front, rain and light rain are expected in Northern Vietnam from late afternoon and night tomorrow. Rain, showers, and thunderstorms will continue in Northern and Central Vietnam. Winds will shift to northeasterly, 2-3 on the Beaufort scale inland and 3-4 along the coast.

From tomorrow evening, the northeast wind in the Gulf of Tonkin will strengthen to level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 8; rough seas; the northern South China Sea (including the waters around the Hoang Sa archipelago); and the sea area from Binh Thuan to Ca Mau will continue to experience strong northeast winds of level 6, gusting to level 7; rough seas. Wave height will be 2-3 meters. Disaster risk level: level 1.

In the northern provinces, the weather remains cold.

Minimum temperatures range from 14 to 17 degrees Celsius, with some mountainous areas experiencing temperatures below 13 degrees Celsius.
Maximum temperature: 17 - 20°C

Thanh Hoa - Thua Thien Hue: Cloudy, with scattered rain and showers, and thunderstorms in some areas. North to northwest winds, 2-3 Beaufort scale. Cold weather, freezing temperatures in the north.
Lowest temperature: 15 - 18 °C
Maximum temperatures range from 18 to 21 degrees Celsius, with some areas in the south reaching 21 to 23 degrees Celsius.

Da Nang to Binh Thuan: Cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms in some areas; particularly in the north, there will be rain and scattered showers in the afternoon and evening. Northeast wind at level 2-3.
Lowest temperature: 22 - 25°C
Maximum temperatures range from 25-28 degrees Celsius, and 29-32 degrees Celsius in the south.

Central Highlands: Cloudy with sunny periods during the day, scattered showers at night in some areas. East to northeast winds, force 2-3.
Lowest temperature: 17 - 20°C
Maximum temperature: 27 - 30°C

Southern Vietnam: Partly cloudy, sunny during the day, scattered showers at night in some areas. East to northeast winds, force 2-3.
