Continuously promoting economic cooperation between Nghe An and Thailand
(Baonghean.vn) - That was the emphasis of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Ngoc Hoa during the meeting and working session with Mr. Tanee Sangrat - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to Vietnam which took place on the morning of February 24.
At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Ngoc Hoa expressed his pleasure to welcome and welcome the Ambassador and the members of the delegation to visit and work in Nghe An, and highly appreciated the attention and cooperation of the Ambassador, the Thai Investment Agency and many Thai enterprises who attended the 2019 Meeting with Investors organized by Nghe An province. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hoped that after the survey trip, Thai enterprises would choose Nghe An as a destination for investment and economic cooperation.

After quickly informing the Ambassador about the socio-economic situation of Nghe An, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Ngoc Hoa also mentioned the strengths and areas in which Nghe An is calling for investment cooperation with international markets, including Thailand.
Specifically, in the agricultural sector, Nghe An is calling for investment projects to build raw material production areas associated with agricultural product processing and consumption markets for food crops, vegetables, tea, sugarcane; develop high-tech agricultural projects adapting to climate change; and raise high-quality livestock, poultry, and aquatic products.

Speaking at the meeting, Thai Ambassador Tanee Sangrat thanked Nghe An province for its warm welcome. He also affirmed that over the past time, the provinces of Bung Can, Sakon Nakhon, Kakhon Phanom, and Nong Khai of Thailand have had a close cooperation relationship with Nghe An within the framework of the Association of Provinces Using Route 8 and Route 12 of the three countries Vietnam - Laos - Thailand (APOTC).
Thanks to that, the two sides actively exchanged and cooperated in many fields, especially in the economic field. Thailand registered to invest in 12 FDI projects with a total registered capital of more than 228 million USD. Hemaraj Group of Thailand has also been licensed to implement an infrastructure investment project at Hemaraj Industrial Park - Nghe An with a total investment of up to 1 billion USD. This is the driving force for Thai enterprises to continue to choose Nghe An as a destination for economic cooperation.
In the coming time, we hope Nghe An will continue to create favorable conditions for Thai businesses to have the opportunity to continue investing and improve economic efficiency for both sides.

At the end of the working session, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Ngoc Hoa affirmed that from the initial achievements, the cooperative relationship between Nghe An and Thailand will develop strongly, and at the same time hoped that the Ambassador will be a bridge to strengthen friendship, cooperation, and support Thai enterprises to invest in Nghe An and vice versa.
