Continuously nurturing the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos.

COn the afternoon of December 6th, at the headquarters of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee, General Secretary and President of Laos Chummaly Saynhasone received the delegation of the Vietnamese Party and State led by Ms. Tong Thi Phong, Member of the Political Bureau and Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly, who was visiting and attending the inauguration ceremony of the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Area in Xieng Vang village, Nongbok district, Khammuane province of Laos.

Ms. Tong Thi Phong expressed her gratitude to the Party, State, and people of Laos for their proactive cooperation with Vietnam in building the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Area in Laos. This project holds historical significance, reflecting the special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos and the reverence for the great President Ho Chi Minh. It is also one of the key projects celebrating the 2012 Laos-Vietnam, Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Solidarity Year.

Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Tong Thi Phong congratulated Laos on the achievements it has made in nearly two years of implementing the Resolution of the 9th Party Congress; expressing confidence that the fraternal Lao people will continue to achieve many new and greater successes, successfully implementing the Resolution of the 9th Party Congress and the seventh five-year socio-economic development plan for the period 2011-2015.

Ms. Tong Thi Phong affirmed that Vietnam will always do its utmost, together with Laos, to preserve and continuously cultivate the special solidarity relationship between Vietnam and Laos, ensuring its development in depth, effectiveness, and practicality for the benefit of the people of each country, and for peace and stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world. She also informed President Chummaly Saynhasone about some general aspects of Vietnam's recent socio-economic situation and Party building work.

Chairman Chummaly Saynhasone warmly welcomed the delegation of the Vietnamese Party and State visiting and attending the inauguration ceremony of the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Area in Laos, considering it a precious asset left for present and future generations of both countries.

The President warmly congratulated the Vietnamese people on the great and important achievements they have made in implementing the Resolution of the 11th National Congress of the Party; praised the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh to the revolutionary cause of the Lao Party and people, as well as laying the foundation and nurturing the special relationship between Laos and Vietnam; and thanked the Party, State, and people of Vietnam for the immense and valuable assistance they have given to Laos from the past to the present.

He affirmed that the Party, State, and people of Laos will do their utmost to preserve and nurture the traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam, ensuring it remains ever-lasting and enduring.
