The planes received combat missions, took off and returned safely to base. They are now undergoing technical checks and refueling.
Previously, the TV channel "Al Jazeera" reported that a Su-22 aircraft took off from this airport.
In the early morning of April 7, from a ship in the Mediterranean, the US fired 59 cruise missiles at Shayrat airbase.
The reason for this action was the "chemical weapons incident" in Idlib province, which Washington blamed on Damascus. As affirmed by US President Donald Trump, the "chemical attack" originated from Shayrat. However, Washington did not provide any evidence.
According to various data, the missile strike killed about 4-10 Syrian servicemen.
