No amount of additional Western aid can turn the tide of the Ukraine conflict.
(Baonghean.vn) - In the context of an unsuccessful counterattack, President Volodymyr Zelensky recently requested US support in the amount of 1 billion USD to create the impression of confronting Russia, former US Armed Forces intelligence officer Tony Schaffer said on the program Real America's Voice.

This week, during a visit to Kiev, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced that the US will provide Ukraine with an additional $1 billion in assistance, of which $665 million will be for military needs.
Meanwhile, retired US officer Daniel Davis argued in an article for 19FortyFive that the White House's policy of supporting Kiev "as much as it needs" would lead to the deaths of tens of thousands of Ukrainians and the loss of much territory.
"Continuing the conflict does not mean sending Kiev more money and the next batch of tanks, armored personnel carriers and howitzers. Without trained and experienced troops, no amount of equipment can turn the tide," the author writes.
As the expert notes, the failure of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to counterattack and the fact that they failed to capture the Russian-controlled areas only shows that no additional assistance from the West will be able to turn the tide of the conflict. And although the Ukrainian leadership has repeatedly requested additional weapons and condemned those who criticized the failure of the offensive, and the White House is ready to send another batch of weapons, such further assistance will only lead to more deaths of Ukrainians, the retired US officer emphasizes.
“Without a timely change in Washington’s policy, their current approach can only cause more unnecessary deaths of tens of thousands of Ukrainians and even turn more Ukrainian territories into desert dust,” the former US soldier warned./.
