The schedule for the 2025 high school graduation exam remains unchanged.
This is the response from the Ministry of Education and Training after receiving submissions from several localities regarding the adjustment of the timing of the 2025 High School Graduation Examination.
Today (March 20th), the Ministry of Education and Training issued Official Letter No. 1195/BGDĐT-QLCL to the Departments of Education and Training of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Ninh Binh, Nghe An, and Quang Tri provinces and cities regarding the schedule for the 2025 High School Graduation Examination.

According to this document, the Ministry of Education and Training acknowledges and highly appreciates the proactive approach of the units in proposing adjustments to the high school graduation exam schedule to meet practical needs in localities and other real-world situations.
However, after considering various factors, the Ministry of Education and Training decided to maintain the 2025 high school graduation exam schedule as announced in the 2024-2025 academic year plan (according to Decision No. 2045/QD-BGDDT dated August 1, 2024).
Maintaining the original exam schedule aims to help stabilize the psychology of parents and students and avoid disrupting other activities in the education sector.

Previously, the Departments of Education and Training of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Ninh Binh, Nghe An, and Quang Tri had submitted proposals to the Ministry of Education and Training requesting that the high school graduation exam be moved forward from the end to the beginning of June.
The proposal was made in the context of the whole country preparing to merge some provincial-level administrative units, eliminating district-level units, and continuing to merge commune-level administrative units according to Conclusion 127-KL/TW dated February 28, 2025, of the Politburo and the Secretariat.
Therefore, adjusting the high school graduation exam schedule to an earlier date this school year would facilitate local preparations for safe, serious, and compliant implementation; ensuring the rights and psychological stability of students.
The 2025 high school graduation exam is the first exam implemented according to the 2018 General Education Program.
In this exam, candidates will take four subjects, including two compulsory subjects: Mathematics and Literature. In addition, candidates will take two elective subjects from the following: Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geography, History, Economics and Law Education, Informatics, Technology, and Foreign Language.
