The Song of the Pioneers

(Baonghean) - Arriving in Tam Hop (Tuong Duong) on ​​a spring day, traversing the winding mountain roads, red dust mixed with mist in the high border region, I felt the separation of space and time in this vast wilderness. Coming to this remote place, I witnessed the hardships of the highlanders, where the entire commune has only a little over a thousand inhabitants. It showed me that this land desperately needs the energy of young people, desperately needs hands that can transform "stones" into "food"...

Looking into the curious and eager eyes of the children and mountain girls amidst the vibrant atmosphere of the day of the campaign to build the Tam Hop youth settlement village, we saw the surging spirit of youth. We saw the strong belief and determination of these young men and women with burning hearts full of enthusiasm, with their hands, minds, and volunteer spirit, eagerly coming to this border region to transform this land.

There will be difficult and arduous days in the early stages of pioneering, there will be salty sweat on sunburnt skin, cold days in the remote borderlands, and shortages of all kinds. But what does it matter? The ambitions and dreams of youth will give wings to their ideals, helping them overcome everything. Love will transform "strange land into homeland," and they will bring spring back to these remote mountains and villages. Roads will be connected, barren hills will be covered with greenery, life will be prosperous, and villages will flourish... Soon we will be proud of an unforgettable time of youth, and in the lives of those in green uniforms, the melody of the songs that have accompanied the years will forever resonate: "Because of love for our homeland, wherever there is a need, there are young people; wherever there is difficulty, there are young people... whether facing high mountains, whether crossing deep rivers, no matter how arduous the hardship, as young volunteers, we promise to be at the forefront."

The spirit of volunteerism and dedication has become a fine quality of generations of Vietnamese youth. The sacrifices made by countless young people in the struggle for independence and freedom serve as a solid foundation for today's youth to confidently move forward with the nation in achieving the goals of industrialization and modernization, for a prosperous people, a strong nation, democracy, fairness, and civilization.

We believe that one day soon, this place will become a promised land, covering every life with greenery, a land of future and hope, a place of closeness, familiarity, and warmth between the military and the people.
