Quynh Luu fishermen advised to move boats away from the scene of the boat fire
(Baonghean.vn) - Oil stains on the water surface and the rising smoke pose a potential risk of re-ignition, so local authorities recommend that fishermen move their boats to a safe place to prevent accidents.
According to the reporter's records at the scene of the fire of 5 fishing boats at Lach Quen port, Quynh Thuan commune, the boats were burned to ashes, completely damaged, the hulls gradually sank into the water, only bare black beams were floating above.

However, what is worrying is that in the fire area, oil from the ship's oil tank has spilled out, floating in a scum that can be seen with the naked eye. The oil slick is large, stretching for tens of meters, posing a potential fire risk if there is a spark.

Although the fires on 5 ships have been completely extinguished, there are still smoke rising from 2 ships and the fire is still smoldering, causing concern for the people. It is worth mentioning that at the fishing port, there are still some people working on construction and welding iron and steel right next to the place where the fire just occurred, increasing the risk of the fire re-igniting.
Mr. Nguyen Huy Duong, a fisherman in Son Hai commune, said: My boat is near the burning boats. Luckily, the fire spread to my house but my family was able to put it out. This morning, seeing that the fire was still smoldering, I anchored the boat about 100 meters away, away from the oil spill to ensure there was no risk.

Faced with this situation, the authorities of Quynh Thuan commune and the fishing port issued a notice, advising fishermen to move their fishing boats to a safe area, away from the fire. Mr. Tran Van Trung - Chairman of Quynh Thuan Commune People's Committee said: Although the fire has been extinguished, the risk of re-ignition still exists, so fishermen need to be proactive in protecting their property. The locality has also shared the loss with the people, and at the same time assigned forces to be on duty to promptly handle any incidents that may arise.
