(Baonghean.vn) - Faced with the situation where rat poison is not effective in protecting rice fields in Dien Truong, Dien Chau, causing damage to winter corn yields, farmers in Dien Truong, Dien Chau have requested relevant authorities to intervene.
Given the ineffectiveness of the rat poison Rat K2% DP in Dien Truong commune, Dien Chau district, the Dien Chau District Department of Agriculture sent Official Letter No. 15/CV-NN (October 13, 2015) to the Nghe An Plant Protection Sub-Department requesting the Sub-Department to inspect the rat poison Rat K 2% DP produced by Thanh Son Agricultural Chemical Company and supplied by Hong Huyen facility in Dien Xuan commune (Dien Chau).

The Plant Protection Sub-Department established an inspection team led by Mr. Nguyen Xuan Binh and collected samples for quality testing. The inspection team collected samples of Rat K 2% DP rat poison (10g packaging), seal code DC2, at Dien Truong location.

On November 27, 2015, the Sub-Department received quality notification No. 328/CL/15 from the Southern Center for Pesticide Testing and Inspection. According to the analysis results from the Southern Center for Pesticide Testing and Inspection, the pesticide met the permissible standard content, but it was ineffective in killing rats.
In response to this situation, Mr. Le The Hieu, Head of the Agriculture Department of Dien Chau district, stated: The manufacturing company must take responsibility for this issue.

Currently, the Nghe An Plant Protection Sub-Department has also sent a letter to the Director of the Plant Protection Department, requesting that the Department re-test the effectiveness of Rat K2% and the active ingredient Warfarin to provide a scientific basis for quality management and rodent control guidance.
The Plant Protection Sub-Department also requested the People's Committees of the districts to direct the People's Committees of the communes and pesticide trading establishments in the area to advise farmers not to use Rat K2% rodenticide.
