The 2017 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) is where Kia chose to display its new Stinger sports car, developed from the GT concept that appeared in 2011 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. |
However, the car's name is taken from the 2014 Kia GT4 Stinger Concept. At that time, this 2-door concept seemed to be aimed at sports cars like the Subaru BRZ and Scion FR-S. |

The Korean automaker's new product has a size that competes with the BMW 3-Series and 4-Series Gran Coupe, as well as the Audi A5. According to Kia, the car's wheelbase is 2,905 mm, longer than all of the above models. |
The overall dimensions of the Kia Stinger are 4,831 mm long and 1,869 mm wide. The rear design is quite similar to coupes and has the shadow of the Audi A7 Sportback. |
Kia's sedan has two engine options. One version uses a 2.0L turbocharged engine, with a capacity of 255 horsepower and a maximum torque of 352 Nm. |
Meanwhile, the remaining version uses a 3.3L V6 engine, twin turbocharger, 365 horsepower capacity and maximum torque of 510 Nm. |
This sports sedan is equipped with advanced shock absorber technology, applied for the first time on a Kia car. Stinger has 5 pre-installed driving modes: Personal, Eco, Sport, Comfort and Smart. |
Both engines come with an 8-speed automatic transmission, rear-wheel drive. Meanwhile, a full-time 4-wheel drive system is optional for customers. The V6 engine version can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.1 seconds and has a maximum speed of 267 km/h. |
