Kia Rio 2017 will have 6 airbags standard equipment

The 4th generation Kia Rio will be equipped with 6 standard airbags along with some other safety technologies such as automatic emergency braking and lane departure warning.

After releasing the initial official images, the details of the 2017 Kia Rio model have also been shared by the Korean automaker. Accordingly, the 4th generation Kia Rio has a new design with a longer hood, improved tiger nose grille, longer front end while the rear is narrower.

Sold as a five-door model in Europe, the new Rio will be available in eight exterior colors and will ride on 15- to 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels. Inside, the dashboard design is completely new and sportier. The seats are upholstered in fabric or synthetic leather.

The new generation Kia Rio will go on sale in Europe in early 2017.

For the first time, Kia Rio will use a 1.0L, 3-cylinder T-GDI engine with 118 horsepower and 172 Nm of maximum torque. In addition to the T-GDI version, Kia also offers 1.25L MPI, 1.4L MPI and 1.4L diesel engine options.

In terms of safety equipment, the 2017 Kia Rio is aiming for a 5-star Euro NCAP rating. Modern technologies integrated into the car include automatic emergency braking, lane warning, a high-strength steel body, and 6 standard airbags.

Entertainment amenities include full Android and Apple smartphone connectivity, a 7-inch touchscreen, a navigation system, and Kia Connected Services that provides traffic and weather forecasts. In addition, according to Kia, the new Rio is the only model in the B segment to have USB ports in both the front and rear compartments.

The 2017 Kia Rio will be on display at the 2016 Paris Motor Show before going on sale in Europe in early 2017. Pricing is yet to be announced.
