KIA 'launches' 2018 Sorento model at Frankfurt exhibition

The 2018 KIA Sorento has finally arrived in Europe, after being launched in Korea earlier this year.

The SUV has been given a few upgrades over the original. Changes include new front and rear bumpers, new LED taillights and LED headlights, a metallic grille, and aggressively designed 17- to 19-inch wheels. The car is painted in Rich Espresso and Gravity Blue.

In terms of interior, the 2018 KIA Sorento has a suitable ratio between soft leather and leather materials to create a more luxurious feel, a new steering wheel, instrument cluster, LCD screen to adjust the temperature, 8-inch entertainment screen integrated with navigation system, Apple Car play, Android Auto and wireless phone charging. Customers can choose to add a new sound system from Harman or Kardon, and can also choose brown or light gray leather upholstery.

Sorento's strong body

This 2018 KIA Sorento is equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission. This transmission is only equipped on models using a 2.2-liter diesel engine, replacing the previous 6-speed automatic transmission. The driver can choose between 4 different driving modes: Eco, Comfort, Sport and Smart, each mode will depend on the driver's purpose such as saving more fuel or accelerating faster.

Upgraded designs such as rear lights, rear bumper...

This flagship SUV is equipped for the first time with the ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) advanced driver assistance system, which helps prevent drowsiness and loss of concentration while driving. The system receives monitoring signals from the vehicle and the driver, if any of the factors is changed, the system will emit an alarm sound and display it on the screen.

Inside the car cabin

The LED headlights are integrated with Dynamic Bending Light, High Beam Assist and Lane Keeping Assist.

Also launched with the 2018 KIA Sorento is the sporty GT Line version. This model is equipped with a series of upgrades: 4 LED fog lights, red brake discs, protruding side steps and “GT Line” lettering, while the diesel version is equipped with characteristic chrome-plated dual exhaust pipes.

The interior of the Sorento GT Line is also upgraded like the regular version, with leather seats, unique paddles, chrome satin fabric and the words “GT Line” embroidered on the saddle.

KIA will sell this model in Europe from Q4 and it will be displayed at the Frankfurt exhibition./.
