Earn billions from rooftop vegetable gardens.
Following initial trials, the hydroponic vegetable farming model is being widely adopted by gardeners and farms in Da Lat city (Lam Dong province) and surrounding areas. Most hydroponic farming models utilize foreign technologies such as those from Israel, Thailand, and the EU, requiring relatively high investment costs, but farmers still earn billions of dong annually.

| Workers place small lettuce seedlings into hydroponic tubes containing nutrient-rich water that flows continuously day and night. |
This model is likened to a garden in the sky because the vegetables are grown on a raised platform about 1 meter above the ground and absorb nutrients through a continuously flowing water supply in hydroponic pipes. Most hydroponically grown vegetables are lettuce or some short-season leafy greens. Besides the advantage of providing clean and safe produce, this vegetable growing model also ensures the health of the growers themselves and contributes to protecting the natural environment, thus becoming a reputable source of clean vegetables for both domestic and international markets.

Hydroponically grown vegetables are being supplied by contract farms to large supermarkets, organic vegetable stores, and restaurant and hotel chains nationwide. Alternatively, they target high-end customers, with average prices ranging from 35,000 to 45,000 VND per kilogram.
According to the Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection of Lam Dong province, the advantage of this model is that it not only ensures the health safety of consumers but also protects the ecological environment.
