According to the pre-assigned plan, the Department of Tropical Diseases at the Provincial Friendship General Hospital is responsible for receiving and treating patients from Vinh Airport and Cua Lo Port. Meanwhile, Ky Son General Hospital is also focusing on preparing to receive patients from the Nam Can Border Gate. At the Nam Can Border Gate, Nghe An province has installed a body temperature measurement system to prevent the spread of dangerous diseases in humans.

At this time, MERS-CoV prevention and control efforts at Ky Son District General Hospital have been strengthened, ready to receive patients (if any). Dr. Moong Thi Tham, Deputy Director of Ky Son District General Hospital, said: The hospital has arranged a special isolation area to receive patients. The ventilator and ultrasound systems have also been well prepared and are ready to be deployed and used when patients arrive. In addition, the hospital has established an in-hospital emergency team and a mobile emergency team ready to coordinate with the Health Center and the international quarantine team when suspected patients appear.

During the inspection, the working group from the Department of Health highly appreciated the local authorities and health units' preparations and response to the MERS-CoV outbreak. Actively combating this dangerous disease, the Nghe An health sector has been requiring health units in the province to retrain on the guidelines for monitoring, diagnosing, and treating MERS-CoV issued by the Ministry of Health; medical facilities are strengthening their emergency response teams, preparing medicines, chemicals, equipment, and plans for patient admission and treatment; and district health centers are strengthening their epidemic prevention and control teams, preparing medicines, supplies, chemicals, and epidemic control plans, and enhancing surveillance and prevention in the community.
