(Baonghean) -Nghe An Department of Health has established a team to inspect medical waste treatment at public and non-public hospitals.

Through the inspection, it was found that most of the district-level general hospitals have solid waste incinerators, some units that do not have incinerators have concentrated them at the designated location. Public hospitals so far do not have liquid waste treatment systems, if they do, they are degraded, damaged and inoperable (if they are operational, they do not meet the permitted standards). Inspections at private hospitals in the city have wastewater treatment systems and good operating processes (Saigon Eye Hospital, Dong Au Hospital, Cua Dong Hospital), other hospitals do not use the correct process, and the techniques are not complete.

Inspections at Vinh City General Hospital, Tuberculosis and Lung Hospital, and Provincial General Hospital showed that although there was a solid and liquid medical waste treatment system in accordance with regulations, the inspection team requested that hospitals have a regime for operating, using, maintaining, and servicing the waste treatment system to operate better. Monthly inspections of technical indicators are conducted to find solutions and repairs, to ensure environmental hygiene does not affect the health of the community.
