Checking the implementation of grassroots democracy regulations in Nghia Dan.

(Baonghean.vn) - On December 8, 2014, the provincial inspection team on the implementation of democratic regulations, led by Comrade Nguyen Van Huy, Provincial Party Committee member and Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, inspected the implementation of democratic regulations at the grassroots level in Nghia Dan district.

The delegation conducted on-site inspections of the implementation of democratic regulations at Nghia Hoi commune and the District People's Procuracy. Following this, the delegation inspected and held a meeting with the District Steering Committee for Democratic Regulations at the grassroots level.

Overview of the working session

In 2014, the implementation of the Regulations on Democracy at the Grassroots Level in the district achieved positive results. The District Steering Committee for the Implementation of the Regulations on Democracy at the Grassroots Level coordinated with the government to implement many solutions to improve the quality of grassroots democracy implementation and the people's awareness of law compliance. Emphasis was placed on the content of "people know, people discuss," and leveraging the people's internal resources. In implementing the National Target Program for New Rural Development, the district has so far mobilized people to donate 292,861 m2 of land, 4,575 m of fences, and cut down 56,215 trees of various types to expand rural roads.

The People's Inspection Committee and the Community Investment Monitoring Committee have been strengthened and are operating quite effectively. Administrative reform and the fight against corruption and waste have seen many positive changes; the resolution of complaints and denunciations is given attention at the grassroots level; grassroots mediation is active and effective; national defense and security are maintained, and social order and safety are ensured.

Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Nguyen Van Huy, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, highly appreciated the efforts of the Party committees, government, Fatherland Front, and people in recent times. The district's economy has made significant strides, the people's living standards have improved, and social welfare has received increasing attention. The ethnic communities are united, in agreement, actively participating in labor and production emulation, and responding to patriotic emulation movements. These are favorable conditions for implementing the grassroots democracy regulations in the district.

The comrade suggested that in the coming period, the district should continue to promote democracy, create high consensus, and mobilize the people's strength in implementing the local political tasks. It is necessary to concretize the principles of "the people know, the people discuss, the people do, the people inspect, and the people supervise"; continue to thoroughly and continuously implement the grassroots democracy regulations; link the implementation of grassroots democracy regulations with administrative reform, anti-corruption, thrift, and anti-waste efforts, along with patriotic emulation movements, especially the new rural development movement. Attention should be paid to grassroots inspection and supervision, effectively carrying out propaganda and legal education; publicly and democratically disclosing social welfare policies and investment programs and projects; and better promoting the role of the Fatherland Front and mass organizations in implementing democratic regulations.
