According to information from the Food Safety Administration, recently, some media outlets have reported that Ensure milk products manufactured by Abbott Laboratories, classified as dietary supplements, have labels containing the phrase "not to be sold in Vietnam or Mexico."
Following the above information, the Food Safety Department checked its data and found that, to date, it has not issued any certificates of conformity with food safety regulations for any Ensure milk products manufactured by Abbott Laboratories that are classified as dietary supplements and whose labels contain the phrase "not to be sold in Vietnam or Mexico."
Therefore, this product is not permitted to be sold in Vietnam. Any business, distribution, circulation, or advertising of this product in the Vietnamese market is a violation of the law.
To promptly detect and strictly handle the aforementioned violations, the Department issued Official Letter No. 263/ATTP-TTr dated January 30, 2015, requesting the Departments of Health of provinces and cities to direct the Food Safety and Hygiene Sub-Departments and the Health Inspectorate to coordinate with market management forces and the police to strengthen inspection and kiểm tra activities regarding the trading of the aforementioned products in their respective areas.
If any business or advertising of this product is discovered in the area, strict action must be taken and the findings publicly disclosed in accordance with the law.
