Resolutely handle violations of medical ethics in medical examination and treatment

(Baonghean.vn) – On the afternoon of July 19, the Department of Health held an online conference to review the health work in the first 6 months of the year and deploy tasks for the last 6 months of 2016.

Comrade Bui Dinh Long - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Health chaired the conference. Also attending were representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, relevant departments and branches, medical units under the sector and delegates at 21 connecting points in 21 districts, cities and towns.

In the first 6 months of 2016, the health sector has been proactive and active in disease prevention and control, implementing health and population target programs with remarkable results. At the same time, medical examination and treatment, rehabilitation, health communication; administrative reform and application of information technology... have had many changes.

The expanded immunization program, malaria prevention, tuberculosis prevention, leprosy prevention, HIV/AIDS prevention, etc. are monitored and implemented regularly and closely. Notably, 3 new Methadone treatment facilities have been deployed, bringing the total number of treatment facilities to 12, with 1,739 patients treated.

Continuing to implement the Project "Improving the quality of medical examination and treatment in Nghe An province in the period 2013 - 2020", in the first 6 months of the year, medical examination and treatment for the poor, near-poor, policy beneficiaries, and children under 6 years old received attention and was well implemented at all levels.

Advanced techniques and new clinical testing systems have been strengthened. Many solutions have been applied to reduce hospital overload, such as organizing examinations on weekends and adding more beds in some departments with high patient traffic.

At the conference, delegates from the connecting points presented the results and difficulties encountered in implementing tasks of preventive medicine, medical examination and treatment, basic construction investment as well as applying information technology, health insurance...

Concluding the conference and deploying tasks for the last 6 months of the year, Comrade Bui Dinh Long - Director of the Department of Health directed: It is necessary to continue to strengthen close monitoring, promptly prevent dangerous infectious diseases; promote communication and health education; resolutely handle cases of medical ethics violations that cause dangerous situations to the lives of patients.

At the same time, focus on applying information technology; advise and direct to accelerate the progress of building communes that meet the National Criteria on Commune Health, period 2012 - 2020, strive to achieve 79% of communes meeting the National Criteria on Health by the end of 2016.
