(Baonghean.vn) - On November 7, a delegation of overseas Vietnamese in Germany presented gifts to support people in the Central region affected by the recent floods.

Welcoming the delegation at the provincial Fatherland Front headquarters were Mr. Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Tran Ngoc Danh - Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs; representatives of the Provincial Red Cross. On the side of the overseas Vietnamese delegation, there was Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Phuong - Member of the Vietnamese Women's Association in the Federal Republic of Germany as head of the delegation, along with representatives of Vietnamese volunteer organizations in the Federal Republic of Germany; representatives of the People's Police Newspaper and related individuals and organizations.

This is a program implemented by the Vietnamese community in Germany in coordination with the People's Police Newspaper, the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Red Cross Society of Nghe An province.

After hearing the news that the people of the Central region suffered losses due to the recent floods, the Vietnamese Association in Germany and international friends in Germany organized a fundraiser to support the people in the country who suffered losses. After receiving the donations, overseas Vietnamese in Germany sent a working group back to their homeland to give gifts to support the people of 4 Central provinces: Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri.

Support level: Nghe An province 650 million VND; Ha Tinh province 600 million VND; Quang Binh, Quang Tri each 1 billion VND. The total amount of money that overseas Vietnamese in Germany and international friends in Germany donated to support the people of Central Vietnam this time is more than 3 billion VND. In addition, the delegation also presented a gift from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs supporting 100 million VND; Global Trade Cooperation Company in Germany donated 18,000 Euros to the people of Nghe An.

Receiving the goodwill of overseas Vietnamese and international friends sent to the people of Nghe An, representing the provincial leaders, comrade Dinh Viet Hong expressed his gratitude to the volunteer group. He also said that local authorities at all levels and the people will actively overcome difficulties, stabilize their lives and strive to rise up. He wished the volunteer group good health, success in life and always look towards their homeland.

Next, the delegation went to Hung Linh commune, Hung Nguyen district to present 100 gifts to people in Hung Linh and Hung Long communes, Hung Nguyen district, each worth 1 million VND.

For 3 families in the province whose relatives died in the flood, and are in difficult circumstances, the delegation supported each with 5 million VND, including the families of Mr. Nguyen Van Minh in Hung Thinh commune, Mr. Hoang Duc Hoa in Hung Trung commune, Hung Nguyen district; Mrs. Tran Thi Thoa in My Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district and the family of Vuong Duc Van in Nam Kim commune, Nam Dan district.

In the afternoon, the delegation presented 75 gifts to support people affected by floods in Thanh Tung commune, each gift worth 1 million VND.

At Thanh Ha Commune People's Committee, the Delegation also presented 75 gifts worth 1 million VND each in cash to households affected by the recent floods in Thanh Ha and Thanh Chi communes.

In addition, the delegation also presented 2 gifts to 2 households whose relatives drowned in the recent floods: Ms. Cao Thi Cuong in Block 15, Dung Town and Mr. Nguyen Van Nghia in Village 5, Thanh Chi Commune, each worth 5 million VND.

Receiving the attention and support of overseas Vietnamese in Germany, the people in the localities receiving support were extremely happy and touched. People expressed their gratitude to the members of the volunteer group, sent their thanks to overseas Vietnamese, especially the Nghe An Association in Germany, and wished our compatriots living and doing business in the neighboring country success, good health and increasingly contributing to the homeland.

At the gift-giving ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Phuong, Head of the delegation, expressed the sympathy, sharing and deep concern of the Vietnamese community living in the Federal Republic of Germany for the people of Nghe An in particular and the people in the country in general. Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Phuong hopes that the sharing of our overseas Vietnamese will help them stabilize their lives and strive to build their families and homeland to become increasingly prosperous.

Đoàn tặng quà gia đình bà Nguyễn Thị Truật ở xóm 4 xã Thanh An, huyện Thanh Chương. Đây là gia đình đặc biệt khó khăn, có một con bị câm điếc và một con gái mất khả năng lao động do bị bỏng nặng. Bà Truật hiện nay 74 tuổi, chồng bà Truật vừa mất được hơn 1 tháng.
The delegation presented gifts worth 5 million VND to the family of Mrs. Nguyen Thi Truat in Hamlet 4, Thanh An Commune, Thanh Chuong District. This is a particularly poor family, with a deaf-mute child and a daughter who has lost the ability to work due to severe burns. Mrs. Truat is currently 74 years old, and her husband passed away more than a month ago.
