Kim Jong-un arrives at the airport to welcome the visiting South Korean President
President Moon Jae-in is visiting Pyongyang for three days and is expected to meet at least twice with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

South Korean President Moon Jae-in left Seongnam Air Base in Seoul at around 8:40 a.m. (6:40 a.m. Hanoi time) today to go to Pyongyang to attend the third summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
At around 9:40 a.m. (7:40 a.m. Hanoi time), the South Korean President's plane landed at Sunnan International Airport in the capital Pyongyang. North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and his wife Ri Sol-ju went to the airport to welcome the South Korean President and his wife Kim Jung-sook. The two leaders inspected the honor guard during the welcoming ceremony. North Korean people also brought flags and flowers to welcome the South Korean President.

The South Korean President's visit to Pyongyang will last for three days. According to the schedule, the leaders of South and North Korea will have a summit meeting this afternoon. In the evening, the two leaders will enjoy a special art performance.
Tomorrow, the South Korean President and North Korean leader will continue to have another meeting before going to lunch at the famous Okryugwan restaurant.
In the afternoon, the two leaders visited several key facilities in the capital Pyongyang. The schedule for the third day has not yet been determined.

Before leaving for Pyongyang, the South Korean president said he would try to persuade the North Korean leader to hold denuclearization talks with the United States.
President Moon also stressed that denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula is not an issue that South Korea can solve unilaterally, and said the top priority at the summit is to discuss concrete steps to find common ground between North Korea and the United States.

The Pyongyang summit marks the third meeting between the South Korean president and North Korean leader this year. The two leaders previously met on April 27 and May 26 at Panmunjom.
