Horrifying 40 tons of pork infected with African swine fever in ham factory
About 40 tons of pork were found in a ham production facility infected with African swine fever.
On August 19, Mr. Vo Van Tinh, Acting Director of the Dong Nai Market Management Department, said that after discovering 40 tons of pork and chicken of unknown origin at a ham production facility in Trang Bom District (Dong Nai), the authorities had the meat tested. The results showed that the meat was infected with African swine fever.
After receiving the test results from the veterinary agency, the Dong Nai Market Management Department handed over the infected meat to the veterinary agency and local authorities for destruction according to regulations.

Previously, on August 12, Market Management Team No. 3 (Dong Nai Market Management Department) and Trang Bom District Veterinary Station (Dong Nai) suddenly inspected a ham production facility in Tay Hoa commune, Trang Bom district owned by Mr. Hoang Dinh Canh.
At the facility, authorities discovered two 20-foot containers containing slaughtered pork and chicken in plastic bags that were emitting a strong foul odor. In addition, the facility also had two large freezers containing pork and chicken. The total amount of pork and chicken at the facility was about 50 tons.
The facility could not present documents and invoices proving the origin of the above pork and chicken.
