Experience in 'fighting' when putting the wrong fuel in your car
Accidentally pouring gasoline into a diesel engine or vice versa makes you "scratch your head". So how to handle this "half-laughing, half-crying" situation?
Putting the wrong fuel in your car is not uncommon now as more and more cars use Diesel, due to subjectivity or carelessness, leading to confusion between gasoline and oil. The consequences will depend on how you handle it.
How gasoline and diesel engines work
For gasoline engines, spark plugs are used to ignite the fuel with the participation of gasoline and air. Gasoline engines burn without a spark plug to ignite and use the Octances index to measure efficiency.

For diesel engines, the mechanism of sucking air into the cylinder is used. The "high pressure nozzle" will compress the fuel mixture under high pressure. When the pressure P reaches 30-35 Kg/Cm² and the temperature reaches 500-600 °C, the oil will explode and push into the Piston in the cylinder. The Centanes index is used to measure the efficiency of the fuel combustion process.

How the oil machine works. |
Because most cars do not have warning lights when filling the wrong fuel, it is very difficult to detect. The common way to recognize is when the driver feels the engine shaking and there are unusual engine noises.
When you put the wrong oil in a gasoline engine
Recognize
When the engine is running, it will cause a lot of smoke and soot because the oil is not burned completely. Then, the soot will clog the engine because it sticks to the cylinder wall and jams the piston.

Consequence
When the vehicle moves at high speed and for a long time, the engine will seize, leading to broken connecting rod and engine damage, which is inevitable.
If the oil level is less than 10% of the volume of gasoline in the tank, add more gasoline to dilute it. After the car has run about 100 km, continue to add gasoline to dilute the oil, and the car will be normal.
In case the oil level is over 10%, stop the car and turn off the engine. Then, drain all the fuel that was mistakenly poured out of the tank. Take the car to the “hospital” to flush the engine, pump the high pressure, replace the fuel filter and refill the fuel, and the car will operate normally.
When you put the wrong gasoline in a diesel engine
Recognize
The car will run a few kilometers without gas entering the engine, making noises, gradually dying and then not being able to start again.
Consequence
The car will seize, the cylinder will burn causing the engine to break and the entire engine will have to be replaced very easily.
How to fix
Absolutely do not restart the car, but take the car to the garage to drain the fuel from the tank, pump the oil several times to rinse and clean the tank. Then, change the oil filter and refill the oil.
The consequences of filling the wrong fuel are huge, so everyone should take the initiative to prevent unfortunate consequences.
