Timely rescue of 4 fishermen from Nghe An whose boat sank
(Baonghean.vn) - At 11:00 a.m. on July 19, 4 fishermen from Nghe An whose boat sank were brought safely to land by authorities.
According to information from the authorities of Dien Bich commune, Dien Chau district, at 2 a.m. on July 19, fishing boat NA 90687-TS of fisherman Nguyen Van Hung of Dien Bich commune was hit by large waves, causing the boat to be damaged, water to flood in and sink.
On board the ship, in addition to the ship owner, there were 3 other crew members including Thai Ba Duy, Dang Van Dau, Ho Van Nhuan, all 4 people were adrift at sea.

Luckily, at that time, in Mr. Hung's fishing team, there was a fishing boat NA 92986 TS of Mr. Nguyen Van Ninh operating nearby. He discovered the incident and moved to rescue the fishermen in distress. Then he brought the fishermen back to shore.
Because the accident site was 39 nautical miles away, the ship had to travel for many hours. It was not until around 11:00 a.m. on July 19 that it arrived at Lach Van estuary.

Upon receiving the news, Dien Thanh Border Guard Station mobilized canoes and soldiers to Lach Van estuary to supply food, and at the same time provided first aid to the distressed sailors, bringing them safely back to the mainland.
Currently, local authorities and functional forces are visiting and encouraging the families of the victims.
The cause of the sinking was determined to be that the ship had been anchored on shore for nearly 2 months without operating, plus the ship had deteriorated, its planks were rotten, so when it encountered a big wave, it broke, water flooded into the ship and sank. The estimated damage was about 800 million VND.

Through the discussion, Mr. Nguyen Truong Thanh - Chief of the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Rescue said: The Office has received a request from the Border Guard Command and the People's Committee of Dien Chau district to be ready with forces and means to support the work of receiving and handing over the injured crew members to their families when the fishing boat NA 92986-TS arrives at Lach Van estuary; organize visits, share and encourage the crew members and families whose boats are in distress./.
