Of the two bodies discovered, one person died in the boarding house of Mr. Nguyen The Hiep and the other body was near the area, in the alley next to house number 61B, the slope of the National Children's Hospital. Examining the scene, the authorities also found a baby, suspected to be the child of the two unfortunate people who were just found. The baby is currently receiving special care at the National Children's Hospital. Mr. Nguyen Minh Tu, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ngoc Khanh Ward, Ba Dinh District, said: "The baby in the hospital is being taken care of very well. This morning, we and the leaders of Ba Dinh District visited the baby who just returned. The baby is Ta Cong Minh, born on July 1, and was diagnosed with pneumonia and lung floor disorder."
According to the Ba Dinh District People's Committee, the fire burned down 19 houses, affecting 31 households and 99 people. Currently, 2 bodies have been taken to the funeral home for forensic procedures. People living around the area where the fire occurred said that on the night of September 17, the rescue team and the Ngoc Khanh Ward Police used loudspeakers to continuously notify people to count the number of people in the family to promptly rescue those trapped. However, no one discovered the 2 unfortunate victims.
Mr. Tran Van Hai in Group 15, Ngoc Khanh Ward, Ba Dinh District said: "When the fire was very big, the fire brigade arrived to rescue but the fire had already spread so much that it was impossible to save. Meanwhile, the alley is so small that the fire trucks cannot enter, and they have to connect very long pipes, making it very difficult to prevent and fight the fire."
