The 9th session of the 15th National Assembly enters its final working week.
From June 23 to 27, the 9th Session of the 15th National Assembly entered its final working week voting to pass a series of draft laws, resolutions and decisions on organizational and personnel work under its authority.

According to the program, on the morning of June 23, the National Assembly discussed in the hall the draft Resolution related to the mechanism for handling difficulties and obstacles due to legal regulations. The Minister of Justice explained some contents of interest to National Assembly deputies. The working session continued with group discussions on the draft Law on Judicial Assistance in Civil and Criminal Matters. In the afternoon, the National Assembly continued group discussions on the draft laws: State of Emergency, transfer of persons serving prison sentences and extradition.
On June 24, the National Assembly voted to pass a series of important legal documents, including: Law amending and supplementing the Law on Vietnamese Nationality; Law on Cadres and Civil Servants (amended) and Resolution on piloting the Procuracy in initiating civil lawsuits to protect vulnerable groups and public interests. The National Assembly also discussed the Law on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters...
In the afternoon, the contents were broadcast live, the National Assembly voted to pass important laws and resolutions, including the Resolution on the 2026 supervision program and the Law amending and supplementing the Law on the Organization of People's Courts and the Law on the Organization of People's Procuracies. At the end of the session, the National Assembly held a separate meeting to review the organization and personnel work under its authority.
On June 25, the National Assembly spent most of its time voting to pass major amendments to the basic legal system, such as the Law on Inspection, the Civil Procedure Code, the Criminal Code, the Law on Promulgation of Legal Documents, the State Budget Law, the Bidding Law, the Planning Law and laws related to finance and public investment. In the afternoon, it continued to discuss the draft Law on Mutual Legal Assistance in Civil Matters. During the working day, the National Assembly held a separate meeting to conduct secret ballots on personnel matters, including the establishment and election of the Chairman of the National Election Council.
On June 26, the National Assembly voted to pass the Law on Personal Data Protection (if eligible) and continued with the contents of the personnel work of the National Election Council. On the same day, the National Assembly discussed the draft Law on State of Emergency and the Law on Transfer of Persons Serving Prison Sentences. In the afternoon, the National Assembly voted to pass resolutions on exemption of agricultural land use tax; exemption and support of tuition fees, universalization of preschool education for children aged 3-5, as well as the Law on Participation in United Nations Peacekeeping Forces (if eligible). In the late afternoon, the Chairman of the National Election Council presented a Proposal requesting approval of the list of Vice Chairmen and Members of the National Election Council.
On the last working day (June 27), the National Assembly continued to vote to pass laws related to science, technology, atomic energy and criminal proceedings. The National Assembly also approved the list of Vice Chairmen and members of the National Election Council by secret ballot, then voted to pass the ratification resolution. In the afternoon, the National Assembly voted to pass many resolutions on strategic infrastructure investment projects, the International Financial Center in Vietnam, specific policies for Hai Phong city, the 2023 state budget settlement and laws related to national defense and socio-political organizations.
According to the program, the 9th Session will close in the late afternoon of June 27. At the closing session (which will be televised and broadcast live), the National Assembly will vote to pass the Resolution on the questioning activities and the Resolution of the session, including important contents such as the special transitional mechanisms and policies after the administrative boundary arrangement. The National Assembly Chairman delivered the closing speech, concluding the 9th Session of the 15th National Assembly.
