Signing of the Coordination Regulations between the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board and the Southeast Economic Zone Trade Union
(Baonghean.vn) - Many important coordination activities to care for and protect the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers have been agreed upon by the two sides to be implemented in the next 5 years.

As of December 2023, the total number of workers in industrial parks is more than 32,000 people. The Southeast Economic Zone Trade Union manages 60 grassroots trade union units.
In the past 5 years, identifying the Southeast Economic Zone as a place where enterprises and many workers and laborers from the non-state sector are concentrated, the Southeast Economic Zone Trade Union has actively and proactively coordinated with the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board and other units to perform its functions and tasks quite well. Thereby, caring for and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and laborers.

Every year, the trade union has proactively coordinated with the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board to monitor compliance with labor laws and social insurance at enterprises. At the same time, it has grasped the situation of labor relations, provided timely guidance, advised on the resolution and supervised the implementation of the minutes of collective work stoppages at units where illegal strikes occurred.
Training on occupational safety and hygiene - fire and explosion prevention and control, and periodic health check-ups are ensured. Up to now, 85% of enterprises have completed and established a network of occupational safety and hygiene officers; 80% of enterprises with trade unions have performed well in occupational safety and hygiene, fire and explosion prevention and control.
74% of enterprises have developed Collective Labor Agreements, which have many provisions and terms that are more favorable to employees than the law. By 2023, the rate of workers participating in labor contracts will reach 97.3%.

Activities to care for and encourage union members and workers have received attention, and many meaningful activities have been implemented. During the term, the Dong Nam Economic Zone Union surveyed and proposed support for the construction and repair of "Union Shelter" houses for union members, with a total support amount of 265 million VND.
The emulation movements "Good workers, creative workers", "Prevention and control of Covid-19, overcoming difficulties, maintaining and developing production"; the emulation movements "Green - clean - beautiful, ensuring occupational safety and hygiene" ... have been effectively organized and implemented. In the past 5 years, many collectives and individuals have been commended and rewarded by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Provincial Labor Federation.

Speaking at the conference, Chairman of Nghe An Provincial Labor Federation Kha Van Tam affirmed that in the coming time, the Southeast Economic Zone will welcome many strong changes, including a large expansion in area, scale, and number of affiliated enterprises... This poses many challenges in the operation of the trade union organization.
To meet the new requirements from practice, the trade union organization in the Southeast Economic Zone needs to clearly define the goals it needs to achieve in order to develop a management method, approach, and handle emerging issues in depth. In particular, focusing on innovation related to people, apparatus, and promoting the role of grassroots trade unions in enterprises.

The signing of the Coordination Regulations between the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board and the Southeast Economic Zone Trade Union is an important premise for the successful implementation of the set goals.
The coordination regulations have 9 key contents. In particular, it focuses on issues related to propaganda work and the process of monitoring and guiding the implementation of democratic regulations and the implementation of labor laws, such as labor contracts, wages, bonuses, social insurance, health insurance, labor safety and hygiene, compensation and allowances for workers with work-related accidents and occupational diseases, and other provisions of labor laws.
At the same time, coordination is implemented more effectively in establishing grassroots unions and mobilizing social resources to support movement building and better care for the material and spiritual lives of workers.
