Disciplined 39 officials involved in the case of 'carving up' Soc Son forest land

The Soc Son District Party Committee and People's Committee have disciplined 39 officials with violations, including many cases of reprimand and warning, including leaders and former key leaders of the district.

On September 23, a source from the People's Committee of Soc Son district said that Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Son district Pham Van Minh had just signed and issued Official Dispatch No. 464/BC-UBND reporting to the Hanoi Party Committee and People's Committee on disciplining leaders and officials related to violations in the management and use of forest land in Soc Son district.

The Soc Son District Party Committee and People's Committee have disciplined 39 officials with violations, including many cases of reprimand and warning, including leaders and former key leaders of the district.

Specifically, two civil servants and contract workers were forced to resign; two cadres under the management of the Standing Committee of Soc Son District Party Committee were dismissed; 6 cases were disciplined by warning and 29 cases were reprimanded (11 cases under the management of the Standing Committee of Soc Son District Party Committee, 18 civil servants and contract workers).

In addition, the leadership of the People's Committee of Soc Son district also organized a review of the district leadership of the terms (2006-2011; 2011-2016; 2016-2021).

In particular, the Chairmen and Vice Chairmen of the District People's Committee of the above three terms were all reviewed and disciplined.

In addition, Soc Son district also identified 19 cases after review but not to the extent of requiring disciplinary action.

Soc Son District also reported 22 other cases, including 7 cases under the management of the District Party Committee Standing Committee, 15 civil servants and workers were not disciplined because the statute of limitations had expired for reasons of illness or medical treatment.

Currently, the Hanoi City People's Committee has issued Decision No. 4424/QD-UBND to discipline Mr. Do Minh Tuan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Son district, by reprimand.

The Standing Committee of Soc Son District Party Committee has organized a review of the responsibilities of the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee for three terms (2005-2010; 2010-2015; 2015-2020) and the cadres under the management of the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee who had related responsibilities during the above three terms, compiled a report for the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and the Inspection Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee to consider. Immediately after that, the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee issued Notice No. 2114/TB-TU concluding the results of the review and handling of responsibilities of the Party organizations and Party members involved in the management and use of forest land in Soc Son district in the period of 2008-2018.

The Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee concluded that the Standing Committee of the Soc Son District Party Committee through three terms (from 2006 to present) needs to seriously draw profound lessons.

The Hanoi Party Committee's Inspection Committee has made decisions to discipline officials under the Party Committee's management, including: Mr. Do Minh Tuan, District Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Son district, was disciplined with a reprimand; Mr. Ta Van Dao, former Standing Member of the District Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Son district, and Mr. Vuong Van But, former Standing Member of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Son district, were disciplined with a warning.

Notably, Soc Son District Party Committee has decided to discipline Mr. Dao Van Suu by removing him from the position of Party Secretary of the District Construction Inspection Team for the 2015-2020 term. Mr. Dao Van Suu is currently a Party member holding the position of Deputy Director of the Soc Son Temple Tourism and Relic Management Center.

Regarding the implementation of the project of setting up forest boundary markers and establishing cadastral maps of forest land as a basis for management work, currently the People's Committee of Soc Son district is actively coordinating with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Department of Planning and Architecture, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the Northwest Forest Investigation and Planning Sub-Institute (the unit that established the environmental protection forest planning map in 2008) to seek opinions and complete the dossier of setting up forest boundary markers according to the Conclusion of the Hanoi City Inspectorate, thereby contributing to stabilizing people's lives and developing the economy and society in the district.
