According to the director of the Central Cancer Hospital, after receiving feedback from patients, the hospital's leadership disciplined 7 medical staff.

On December 19, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Van Thuan - Director of the Central Cancer Hospital - said that the hospital had decided to discipline 7 medical staff who were previously accused by patients of improper service attitudes, including heads and deputy heads of several departments.

One officer was transferred to another job and not allowed to come into contact with patients. The rest were disciplined with warnings and had their bonuses cut.

“We commit that within the next 6-12 months, K Hospital will definitely change in a more positive direction. We will increase human resources and facilities for medical examination and treatment; add suggestion boxes, establish an internal inspection committee to monitor expertise and service attitude. The hospital is ready to receive, verify, and handle opinions that patients and their families reflect through many different information channels,” Mr. Thuan affirmed.

Previously, on the morning of December 8, Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien inspected and surveyed the medical examination and treatment work at K Hospital, branch 3, and witnessed 4 patients sharing a bed in the Internal Medicine Department 2.

The Minister has requested the Board of Directors of K Hospital to immediately remedy this situation and to arrange departments, rooms, and wards appropriately so that patients do not have to suffer more when being hospitalized here.

The Institute of Health Strategy and Policy also conducted a survey to innovate the service style and attitude of K Hospital. The results showed that the overall satisfaction level of patients was 66% with 3 facilities, the lowest among the hospitals surveyed at that time.

Facility 3 has the best facilities, but the patient satisfaction level is the lowest, about 52%. Facility 1 reached nearly 88%. Some people complained about the lack of enthusiasm of medical staff, scolding patients; the situation of making things difficult between patients who gave money and those who did not; patients changing and unplugging each other's IV lines...
