On January 17, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, the Secretariat met under the chairmanship of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to consider disciplining the Standing Committee of the Overseas Party Committee for the 2010-2015 term.
After reviewing the report of the Central Inspection Commission (No. 59-BC/UBKTTW, dated January 5, 2017), the Secretariat concluded as follows:
In the past, the Standing Committee of the Overseas Party Committee for the 2010-2015 term has allowed internal disunity to occur; has not seriously implemented the principles of democratic centralism, self-criticism and criticism; has shortcomings in a number of violations in personnel work and handling of denunciations; has not strictly implemented the Working Regulations of the Party Committee and the Agency...
The above shortcomings and violations have affected the leadership role and prestige of the Standing Committee of the Overseas Party Committee, causing negative public opinion in the Overseas Party Committee.
Pursuant to Regulation No. 263-QD/TW dated October 8, 2014 of the Politburo on disciplinary action against violating party organizations, the Secretariat decided to discipline the Standing Committee of the Overseas Party Committee for the 2010-2015 term with a reprimand.
