Disciplinary action against Ward Party Secretary for using fake diploma and abandoning office

On October 9, Mr. Trinh Xuan Thieu, Secretary of Phu Nhuan District Party Committee, confirmed that the district had just disciplined and removed from all Party positions and forced to resign a ward secretary (in the district) who was discovered to have used a fake university degree.

The disciplinary decision was made by the Standing Committee of Phu Nhuan District Party Committee last weekend. The disciplined person is Ms. Dao Thu Ngan (35 years old) - Party Secretary and Chairwoman of Ward 5 People's Council.

According to Thanh Nien reporter's investigation, around the end of August 2017, the District Party Committee and some agencies in the district received a complaint that Ms. Ngan used a fake degree from Ho Chi Minh City University of Law. Then the District Party Committee assigned the Phu Nhuan District Inspection Committee to verify and Ms. Ngan admitted to using a fake degree from Ho Chi Minh City University of Law (part-time program).

After the District Party Committee reported the violations, Ms. Ngan intended to quit her job. In mid-September 2017, Ms. Ngan reported taking a few days off and has not been to the office since then.

It is expected that next week, the Ward People's Council will meet to remove Ms. Ngan from the position of Chairwoman of the Ward People's Council./.
