Disciplinary action against a female land officer who 'charged' people for red books
(Baonghean.vn) - Information from the leader of Vo Liet commune (Thanh Chuong) said: the female cadastral officer of this commune has just been disciplined with a warning and transferred to another job due to her involvement in receiving money from people to make red books.
Mr. Tran Van Ky - Chairman of the People's Committee of Vo Liet Commune said: The person accused by 6 households of receiving money to make red books is Ms. Tran Thi Hong - a commune cadastral officer. Specifically, Ms. Hong collected 200,000 VND from each household making red books to write the documents and 500,000 VND, saying that she would "leave an envelope" for the district cadres to speed up the process and reduce land tax fees.
After receiving the complaint, the inspection team of the Thanh Chuong District Internal Affairs Department worked and talked with 6 households accusing Ms. Hong of receiving money to clarify the case.

At the meeting, Ms. Hong admitted her violations. The Thanh Chuong District Department of Internal Affairs requested Ms. Hong to return the money she had received from the 6 households mentioned above.
Through inspection, it was determined that Ms. Tran Thi Hong had seriously violated the provisions of the Law on Anti-Corruption and the provisions of Clause 8, Article 35, Decree 112/2001/ND-CP dated December 5, 2011 of the Government on civil servants of communes, wards and towns.
Thanh Chuong District People's Committee has decided to discipline Ms. Tran Thi Hong with a warning, and at the same time transfer Ms. Hong to be in charge of the agricultural and environmental sectors, no longer in charge of land and land administration.
