To become a sniper of the Vietnamese special forces, agility, calmness, good camouflage ability... are the top criteria.

Snipers are considered an elite special force in the armies of several countries around the world.

These are soldiers trained to operate alone or in pairs or teams to continuously monitor the enemy and destroy targets from concealed positions or from distances beyond the enemy's ability to detect them.

Each country has different military doctrines on the use of snipers, which dictate formations and tactics. In Vietnam today, snipers are assigned to the Special Forces Brigades of the Special Forces.

To carry out the task of protecting targets and effectively fighting terrorism, each soldier in the sniper team of the Special Forces Brigade must undergo a rigorous training process. From basic exercises to in-depth training, the tactical techniques of a sniper are maintained regularly and seriously.

Running exercises train strong leg muscles. Not only do leg muscles need to be strong, the arm muscles of fighters are also trained regularly with exercises from low to high, from simple to complex.

Sharing on QPVN Channel, Captain Do Dinh De, Deputy Head of Special Forces Team 1, Team 7, Special Forces Brigade 1 shared: "To complete the mission, a sniper needs to have good health, skillful technical and tactical skills to ensure that he can swing on the rope while carrying weapons and equipment to ensure approaching the target and choosing the right position to operate during the battle."

In particular, to become a good sniper, one of the required skills is to control breathing and pull the trigger at the right time. If you breathe too fast or hold your breath too much, the pressure of the breath will cause the bullet to fly off course.

Therefore, in addition to the usual basic exercises like other special forces soldiers, sniper soldiers often have to practice specialized exercises such as doing push-ups while holding their breath in a basin of water.

In addition to physical training and tactical techniques, there is the ability to enhance vigilance and observation for units when approaching targets.

Therefore, most of the sniper's time is spent scouting and observing targets. Therefore, the soldier's observation ability plays an extremely important role.

To train concentration, patience and physical strength, snipers in the sniper team have separate exercises such as tossing balls. This process will help stimulate the retinal nerve and the optic nerve center, enhancing eye refraction regulation.

As a unit tasked with counter-terrorism and riot prevention in large urban areas, the sniper team of the 1st Special Forces Brigade must have a firm grasp of the terrain and combat areas in the city area.

Compared to combat on the battlefield, combat in urban areas is much more difficult. To be able to attack a target boldly and unexpectedly, one of the most important skills is camouflage techniques.

Camouflage is considered a fairly common method in military operations aimed at concealing combat formations from enemy reconnaissance vehicles.

Like sniper forces in many armies around the world, the sniper team of the 1st Special Forces Brigade consists of 2 people. One of them is a sniper and the other is responsible for observing, detecting targets and measuring parameters such as distance, wind direction, and humidity for the sniper.

The accuracy of a shooter's trigger pull depends largely on the observational information collected.

When operating, the gunner focuses on the target through the sight, so the self-protection factor against close-range attack vehicles is very limited.

So in addition to providing reconnaissance data, these soldiers also have the task of protecting the entire team.

Therefore, their equipment, in addition to binoculars and reconnaissance equipment, also includes a submachine gun. Moving slowly, carefully and methodically is what snipers learn after training sessions.

Through training sessions at the training ground, sniper team members perfect their skills and perform actions with optimal efficiency.
