Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Faculty of Agriculture - Forestry - Fisheries, Nghe An University
On the afternoon of November 15, Nghe An University solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Faculty of Agriculture - Forestry - Fisheries, marking two decades of construction, growth and important contributions to the cause of training human resources to serve the agricultural sector of Nghe An province and the North Central region.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of leaders of departments, branches and sectors in the province; representatives of research institutes, universities, partner enterprises; generations of staff, lecturers, students and alumni of the Faculty of Agriculture - Forestry - Fisheries.
In the commemorative speech, the faculty leaders reviewed the formation process since 2005 and the remarkable developments. From the initial foundational subjects, the faculty has now trained in many key fields such as Crop Science, Forestry, Veterinary Medicine, Land Management and High-tech Agriculture. The faculty's teaching staff has been increasingly strengthened, including 7 PhDs, 100% of lecturers meeting the required qualifications, meeting the increasingly high requirements of higher education.

One of the important marks of the faculty is scientific research activities - a field that always holds the leading position in the whole school. In 20 years, the faculty has implemented dozens of ministerial and provincial level projects and hundreds of research projects of staff and students, many results have been directly applied to agricultural - forestry - fishery production in Nghe An and some other localities.

The Faculty also established a wide cooperation network with specialized units in Yen Bai, Lam Dong, Gia Lai, Quang Ngai, Ha Tinh... contributing to improving research capacity and technology transfer.
In addition to training and research activities, the Faculty of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries has also achieved many achievements in quality assurance. A highlight is the Veterinary training program that meets the 4*plus evaluation standards according to the UPM system, demonstrating integration with regional standards.
The employment rate of graduates is always 100%, many alumni become experts, managers, owners of high-tech agricultural enterprises or are working in nature reserves and state management agencies. This is considered a clear proof of the quality of practical training of the faculty.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Hieu - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector of Nghe An University acknowledged the efforts of the Faculty of Agriculture - Forestry - Fisheries in innovating the program, linking training with social needs, and expressed his hope that the faculty will continue to develop in a multidisciplinary direction, keeping up with the trend of digital agriculture, sustainable agriculture and applying big data in production.
In particular, the faculty needs to focus on the goal of becoming a strong research unit by 2030, with enough capacity to provide solutions and knowledge to serve the development of modern agriculture for Nghe An province and the region.
