Celebrating 30 years of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly

Attending at the Central bridge were comrade Do Van Chien - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Le Thanh Long - Party Central Committee member, Deputy Prime Minister; comrades of the Party Central Committee; former leaders of the Party, State, National Assembly; representatives of ministries, departments, branches and central organizations.

At Nghe An bridge point, there were comrades: Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of leaders of relevant departments, branches and sectors.

The speech presented at the ceremony stated that the Vietnam Association of the Elderly was formerly the Association of Elderly People for National Salvation. On May 10, 1995, the Vietnam Association of the Elderly was established. Over the past 30 years, with 6 congresses, the Association of the Elderly at all levels has gradually developed, becoming the core in caring for and promoting the role of the elderly; at the same time, encouraging children and grandchildren to compete in patriotism, together with the country entering the era of national growth, strong development, prosperity, and happiness...

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Do Van Chien - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee requested that the Elderly Association at all levels continue to thoroughly grasp the consistent viewpoint of our Party and State, identifying the elderly as an important political and social resource in the cause of national construction and defense; caring for and promoting the role of the elderly is the responsibility of the Party, State, society and family; proactively arranging and perfecting the streamlined organization, operating effectively, efficiently and effectively according to the 2-level local government model.

Focus on discovering and replicating advanced models and shining examples of the elderly in all areas of social life; promptly commend, reward and encourage advanced models to continue to promote their roles and make positive contributions to the cause of building the homeland and country, participating in building a strong Party, government, front and mass organizations, and people, contributing to building an increasingly prosperous homeland and country, and people having a prosperous and happy life.

Party committees at all levels, the government, the Fatherland Front and the whole society need to continue to pay attention to supporting resources, creating favorable conditions for the Elderly Association to operate effectively, considering this a political responsibility, a sacred morality of the nation. We must together pass on to future generations the morality of "respecting the elderly, cherishing longevity", drinking water, remembering its source, honoring the elderly, promoting the Dien Hong spirit in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

On this occasion, the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam awarded the First Class Labor Medal to the Vietnam Association of the Elderly.

At the ceremony, leaders of the Party, State and Government performed the launching ceremony of the humanitarian program "Bright eyes for the elderly".
