Celebrating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Quang Trung Ward (Vinh City)
(Baonghean.vn) -Last night, August 18th, the Party Committee of Quang Trung Ward (Vinh City) held a ceremony to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the ward's establishment (August 18th, 1982 - August 18th, 2012).Attending the celebration were representatives from the city leadership, neighboring wards, and a large number of local residents.
Comrade Nguyen Xuan Sinh - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee, presented a banner to the ward on the occasion of the anniversary.
Over the past 30 years, the Party Committee, government, and people of Quang Trung Ward have united in solidarity, actively implementing the Party's reform policies, developing potential and advantages, strongly unleashing internal strengths, overcoming difficulties, and achieving many important accomplishments in all fields. The urban landscape has changed rapidly, the people's lives have improved and been enhanced, and the poverty rate has decreased to only 1.2%. The proportion of trade and services is 67.3%, industry and construction 32.7%, and the average per capita income in 2012 was 31.2 million VND. All 15/15 blocks in the ward have established regulations, and the annual rate of culturally exemplary families exceeds 90%. 8 blocks and 7 agencies, units, and schools have achieved the title of "Culturally Exemplary School". 6/6 schools have achieved national standard school status (phase 1); 2 schools are currently working towards national standard status (phase 2).
Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Sinh - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the City People's Committee - emphasized four key tasks for Quang Trung ward in the coming period: Accelerating economic development, mobilizing social resources to invest in the strong development of various types of production, business, services, trade, and household economies; consolidating and improving the efficiency of specialized business streets; doing a good job of land management; mobilizing and effectively utilizing resources to invest in the construction of socio-economic infrastructure, contributing to a faster transformation of the urban landscape; effectively implementing social welfare, poverty reduction, job creation, improving the material and spiritual lives of the people; and effectively implementing Resolution No. 4 of the 11th Central Committee on "some urgent issues concerning Party building today," in conjunction with promoting the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's moral example, and building a strong political system from the ward to the block level.
