Commemorating 40 years since participating in the liberation of Quang Tri.
(Baonghean) - In anticipation of the 37th anniversary of the liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country, on April 14th, the two civilian labor brigades C5B5 and C1B5 of Thanh Chuong organized a reunion to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Thanh Chuong civilian labor brigade's participation in the liberation of Quang Tri (1972 - 2012).
(Baonghean) - In anticipation of the 37th anniversary of the liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country, on April 14th, the two civilian labor brigades C5B5 and C1B5 of Thanh Chuong organized a reunion to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Thanh Chuong civilian labor brigade's participation in the liberation of Quang Tri (1972 - 2012).
The Thanh Chuong civilian labor force, consisting of 258 people divided into two companies, C5B5 and C1B5, fought on the Quang Tri liberation front. At the end of the campaign, Company C5B5 was awarded the Third-Class Military Merit Medal, 9 people were awarded the Military Merit Medal, 4 people were killed in action, 29 were wounded, and 79 were affected by Agent Orange.
At the reunion, in a touching and warm atmosphere, the former civilian laborers reminisced about the arduous but heroic days and the profound memories from 40 years ago on the Quang Tri front. This was also an opportunity for the former civilian laborers to interact, encourage, and support each other in life.
