Celebrating 60 years of establishment of Nghe An urban water supply industry

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 25, Water Supply Joint Stock Company celebrated the 60th anniversary of Nghe An Urban Water Supply tradition day (15/25/1957 - 2017)

Attending the event were Mr. Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of Departments and branches.

The predecessor is Vinh Water Plant (established on December 25, 1957). Up to now, after 60 years of construction and development, the leadership and collective, employees of the Company through the periods have united, constantly strived to fulfill assigned tasks, building the Company to become stronger and stronger.

Recently, with the attention and support of all levels and sectors, the Company has implemented a water supply project for 6 mountainous districts: Do Luong, Anh Son, Quy Chau, Quy Hop, Tan Ky and Con Cuong with a total capacity of 6,500 m³/day and night. At the same time, implement the project to build a water supply system for Vinh city with a capacity of 20,000m³/day and night up to 60,000m³/day and night and water supply project in Vinh vicinity with capacity of 20,000m³/day and night

Implementing the Government's Equitization Policy, in early 2017, the Company converted its operating model from a 100% State-owned LLC to a Joint Stock Company. Currently, in addition to Hung Vinh Water Plant with a capacity of 60,000 m3/day and night, Cau Bach Water Plant with a capacity of 20,000 m3/day and night, the Company is managing 11 water plants in the towns of Ky Son, Tuong Duong, Con Cuong, Anh Son, Do Luong, Tan Ky, Quy Chau, Quy Hop, Thanh Chuong, Nam Dan, Hung Nguyen districts with a total capacity of 110,000 m3/day and night, supplying 111,000 households.

Thanks to the innovation in management in production and business, the Company's production and business results are higher year after year. In 2007, tap water consumption reached 8,350,000 m3, in 2017 it reached 23,127,438 m3, an increase of 277%. The number of customers in 2007 was 57,000 households, in 2017 it was 111,000 households.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged and praised the achievements of Nghe An Urban Water Supply Industry over the past 60 years. At the same time, he emphasized: In the coming time, the Company needs to innovate management, boldly invest in synchronous development of water supply system and make more efforts to produce more and more clean water to serve the needs of industrial development, trade, services, tourism, attract investment and meet the water needs of the people.

On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded the Company a banner with the words "Nghe An Water Supply Joint Stock Company 60 years of construction, innovation and development" and Certificates of Merit to 3 individuals with outstanding achievements in the past time.
