Celebrating 62 years of Nghe An Health sector following Uncle Ho's teachings

(Baonghean.vn) - On the evening of February 24, the Department of Health organized a Gala to celebrate the Nghe An Health sector following Uncle Ho's teachings on the occasion of the 62nd anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors' Day (February 27, 1955 - February 27, 2017).

Over the past 62 years, implementing Uncle Ho's teachings, Nghe An's health sector has been and will continue to continuously study to improve professional qualifications and ethics, take care of people's health, build an increasingly developed medical sector, and contribute to the overall development of the country and the province.

From a province with only over fifty medical staff, today there are more than 10,000 medical staff and employees; health care for people mainly relies on the community, but now specialized medicine has been developed, applying many new techniques to examine and treat people in the province, neighboring provinces and Laos. From a place where doctors only have the professional qualifications and skills to treat common diseases, emergency surgery for open wounds, up to now, many medical facilities in the industry have been able to successfully perform advanced and complex techniques, such as: Cardiovascular intervention, open heart surgery, vascular surgery, neurology, spine surgery, organ transplantation at provincial hospitals.... Disease prevention work has been proactively and actively deployed, many dangerous epidemics have been controlled and pushed back.

With tireless efforts and dedication, entering the period of innovation, Nghe An Health sector continues to affirm its position in the country's health sector with awards such as: The title of Labor Hero from 1999 to 2008 for Dien Van Commune Health Station, Dien Chau District; 4 doctors were awarded the title of People's Physician; 184 Excellent Physicians, 190 people were honored as Exemplary Medical Ethics and many other collectives and individuals received other noble awards from the Party and State.

At the ceremony, comrade Le Minh Thong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee expressed his gratitude to the doctors of Nghe An province who have made many contributions to the cause of taking care of people's health over the past 62 years. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hopes that in the coming time, the Nghe An Health Sector will continue to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment, focus on innovating the style and service attitude of medical staff, aiming at the satisfaction of patients; Proactively prevent epidemics, not allowing major epidemics to occur; Control harmful factors to health related to the environment and food safety; Promote population and family planning work; Organize and implement the autonomy mechanism in public service units according to Decree No. 85 and Decree No. 16 of the Government. The whole sector will continue to promote information - communication work, health education, and set good examples of medical ethics in the medical sector.

At the ceremony, the audience and delegates had the opportunity to interact with doctors and patients about the implementation of innovation in service style and attitude, aiming at patient satisfaction; comprehensive innovation in healthcare and providing high-tech services to the people.

At the ceremony, authorized by the leaders of the Ministry of Health and the leaders of Nghe An province, the title of People's Physician was awarded to Dr. Le Thanh Ha - Director of the Center for HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control of Nghe An province and Dr. Nguyen Xuan Sau - Former Director of Vinh City General Hospital; the title of Excellent Physician was awarded to 51 physicians, pharmacists; the title of National Emulation Fighter was awarded to Dr. Duong Dinh Chinh - Deputy Director of Nghe An General Hospital; the Certificate of Merit of the Ministry of Health was awarded to 1 collective and 2 individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing innovation in the service style and attitude of medical staff towards patient satisfaction.
