Ky Son: Three child traffickers caught thanks to taxi driver's vigilance
(Baonghean.vn) - "Suspecting that I was deliberately "staying for time", the women on the bus intended to change to another bus to go to Mong Cai (Quang Ninh) but fortunately it was unsuccessful."
That was shared by Mr. Duong Danh Son - the taxi driver who transported 2 women and 2 girls on the night of August 6 in Muong Xen town (Ky Son). These 2 people were immediately arrested for illegally taking people to China.

Regarding the case of tricking two girls into being sold to China, which occurred in the border district of Ky Son on the night of August 6 and early morning of August 7, 2017, the person who made great contributions to helping Ky Son Police successfully crack Case 171E, rescue two girls and arrest related subjects was Mr. Duong Danh Son (born in 1986), driver of Lac Hong Taxi Company, Ky Son District Branch.
With a handsome, determined face, Mr. Son recounted unforgettable moments for a new driver like him.
At around 11pm on August 6, Mr. Son was parking his car near a coffee shop in Block 2, Muong Xen town when he received a phone call to pick up a customer near the Muong Xen town People's Committee.
Receiving the news, he went to the requested location. There was a woman wearing a floral shirt, leading a child of about 3 years old, waiting. After getting in the car, the woman asked him to drive about 50m to pick up more people at a restaurant. At this point, another fat woman and 2 children got in the car.
The women offered to take us to Chieu Luu commune (about 20km from Muong Xen town). After only 300m, they asked again and asked Mr. Son to take them to Mong Cai border gate (Quang Ninh). "I said that going to Mong Cai would cost a lot of money, about 5-8 million, but they said you just take us, we will pay the full amount" - Mr. Son recounted.
Hearing the other people's assertions made Mr. Son begin to suspect the shady things they were doing. Looking at those innocent children, he thought that they were being tricked and sold to China by two women. "At that time, I didn't know how to report the news, and how to handle the situation, if there was a disturbance they would escape. I decided to stop the car at the house of a friend named Hung in block 4 and explained to the people in the car that I had to ask for another driver to go on a long trip. Here I told Mr. Hung about the incident and asked him to contact the police. Then I got back in the car and continued to take the suspicious passengers."
"When I was on the road, I intentionally drove very slowly, only about 10km/h, to wait for the police to chase me, and I didn't forget to pay attention to their actions.
About 1km out of Muong Xen town, it seemed that the two women had discovered that I was deliberately "wasting time", so they intended to get off the car and find another way to go to Quang Ninh. One of the two women said they would take them to Chieu Luu commune and I agreed - said Mr. Duong Danh Son.
At around midnight, when Mr. Son's car reached a section of road in Huu Kiem commune, about 5km from the starting point, the Ky Son district police caught up and asked to stop the car to check the documents. Because they could not prove the relationship between the children on the car and them, the two women were invited to the headquarters for questioning.

At the police station, the two subjects confessed to being Cut Thi Dao (born in 1989) and Moong Thi Chieu (born in 1986). Expanding the investigation, that same night, the police investigation agency of Ky Son district arrested Ven Van Hiep (born in 1980) (Moong Thi Chieu's husband), all 3 residing in Chieu Luu commune, Ky Son district, Nghe An province. The subjects confessed to having together carried out the act of selling 2 Moong TX girls in the district to China for nearly 240 million VND./.
