Ky Son: 26 warheads and bombs of various types destroyed.

(Baonghean.vn) - On July 23rd, in Nam Can commune, Ky Son district, the functional forces of Ky Son district, in coordination with the Engineering Battalion of the Nghe An Provincial Military Command, organized the destruction of bombs, mines, and unexploded ordnance left over from the war.

Unexploded bombs and landmines remain in Ky Son district.

This was the largest bomb and mine clearance operation in Ky Son district. It included 20 artillery shells of various types, along with 5 cluster bombs and one bomb measuring 1.5m in length, 35cm in diameter, and weighing 500 pounds (approximately 250kg), buried about 1 meter below the surface in Noong De village, Nam Can commune.

Authorities are using equipment to defuse the bomb.

These bombs and mines were discovered by the people of Khanh Thanh and Noong De villages in Nam Can commune while working in their fields.
