(Baonghean.vn) - Today (July 6), more than 36,000 candidates in Nghe An province will begin procedures to enter the 2022 High School Graduation Exam. This is also an important exam to review 12 years of high school and is the basis for admission to universities and colleges.

Worrying before G-hour

Student Le Thi Khanh Linh - Class 12D1, Do Luong 3 High School will register for admission to block D78 (including Literature, English and Social Sciences) and with the main wish of being admitted to the English Language major of Da Nang University. Because the subject combination is close to the graduation exam subjects, Khanh Linh's studies are not too difficult and she is quite confident. However, before the exam, this female student still cannot help but worry: "My recent practice test scores are all above 8, but I am still not very confident, because the admission scores to universities have increased dramatically in the past 2 years."

Do Luong 3 High School has more than 500 candidates taking the High School Graduation Exam this year and about 70% of them registered to apply for university admission. To prepare the candidates well, from the beginning of April until now, the school has organized 2 review sessions, the first session ended in mid-May with 40 sessions and the second session from the beginning of June until now, students have studied 58 sessions.

Teacher Vuong Tran Le - Principal of the school said: “Before the exam, our school had about 70 students participating in the University Competency Assessment Test and about 30 students had enough points to pass the university entrance exam. Among them, there were candidates who were among the top candidates with the highest scores in the exam organized by Hanoi National University. This is an advantage for the students and also helps them to reduce the pressure of the exam. For the remaining candidates, the school focuses on reviewing for the exam according to their abilities and levels, trying to get the best results in this year's exam season".

High school graduation examThe exam is organized for two purposes: to recognize graduation and to get scores for admission to universities and colleges. For candidates who have met all the additional criteria for university admission or have participated in competency assessment exams, this exam is quite easy. However, many candidates are very worried because when the chance of being admitted by graduation exam scores is getting smaller, the pressure on scores is even higher.

Candidate Nguyen Manh Cuong - Grade 12 A1, Anh Son 2 High School said: “I like to study Economics, but this year, schools such as National Economics University, Foreign Trade University and some top schools only reserve 15% of the admission quota for candidates with high school graduation results. Therefore, I plan to apply to the University of Commerce, because this school reserves 50% of the quota. With this admission method, I think this year's admission score will be very high and candidates will have less and less chance of being admitted to university, especially with top schools using this traditional admission method."

Ensure safety, no errors

Nghe An is one of the provinces with the highest number of participants in the 2022 High School Graduation Exam in the country, with nearly 37,000 candidates taking the exam at 69 exam sites. To prepare for this year's exam, the province has mobilized over 3,000 officials and teachers to work as invigilators and perform tasks at exam councils. In addition, nearly 2,000 people from other forces such as police, militia, security, medical staff, etc. have been mobilized to ensure safety and serve the exam.

Previously, although this was an annual exam and was organized seriously by Nghe An, due to the special nature of a national exam, ensuring the exam was still a top priority for the province, the education sector and localities. To organize this exam, Nghe An established a provincial and district exam steering committee and the provincial People's Committee also issued a separate Directive on strengthening direction, coordinating organization and assigning responsibilities to each department and sector in the preparation work. Before this year's exam, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son also directly inspected the work of ensuring safety at the exam printing and copying points, exam locations and exam marking points.

From the actual inspection, the working group highly appreciated the preparation work of Nghe An province, but also pointed out some concerns and worries. In particular, it is important to keep the distance between the testing locations and the houses of the people, avoiding the situation where some bad guys can use cameras and high-tech devices to copy the test questions and papers. Or the issue of ensuring the safety of the test questions and papers during transportation, especially in Nghe An with large terrain, difficult travel conditions, the distance between the place of delivering and receiving the test questions is sometimes hundreds of kilometers.

Regarding the issue of ensuring exam safety, Colonel Le Van Thai - Deputy Director of the Provincial Police also said: "After receiving instructions from the Ministry of Public Security and the Provincial Steering Committee, the Provincial Police have developed a comprehensive plan to ensure "4 safety", which are safety in printing, packaging, and transporting exam papers; ensuring safety at exam sites; ensuring safety in transporting exam papers to avoid incidents and finally ensuring safety at exam marking sites. In addition, the Provincial Police have also conducted a specialized training session for all officers on duty at exam sites and directed the Police of districts, cities, and towns to develop plans to ensure security and safety at exam sites and increase forces to ensure traffic, prevent and fight fires and explosions".

Before the exam day, the preparation work of localities and exam sites has been completed and ready for this year's exam. In order for the exam to take place seriously and safely, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long - Head of the Steering Committee for the 2022 High School Graduation Exam of the province also requested that the examination councils not be subjective in the preparation process, avoiding even the smallest mistakes. The organization of the exam must be in accordance with the regulations, and the officers and invigilators must fulfill their responsibilities to ensure the rights and fairness for all candidates.
