Strange train goes through high-rise building
The crowded and cramped conditions in Chongqing city (China) forced engineers to design a monorail to run through a 19-story building.

Chongqing, a city of 49 million people, is becoming a difficult problem for planners and architects who want to create change. |
According to CNN, in 2004, when the Monorail No. 2 project was approved, engineers had only two options: demolish the entire building or remove one or two floors to make room for the train. After considering back and forth, experts all chose the second option.
Not only does the train pass through the building, but passengers also wait for their train on the 7th and 8th floors of this residential building. This means that residents have the train station right at their doorstep. |
The 19-story building is also reinforced with noise-reducing materials and equipment, so residents here claim that when trains pass by, they only hear a sound similar to that of a dishwasher. |
It is known that apartment prices in this building are skyrocketing due to the perfect conditions for accessing public transport. |
