Strange with dragonfly-shaped pedestrian bridge floating on the river
The portable bridge, which can be easily folded and repositioned, could become a pedestrian crossing in the future.

The automated dragonfly-shaped pedestrian bridge is the idea of London-based architect Margot Krasojevic, who is known for her bold, pioneering designs, New Atlas reported on August 6. The bridge will be able to fold and adjust its shape according to its surroundings.
The modern bridge design project was launched by the Ordos city government in Inner Mongolia, China, to find a new way across the Wulan Mulun River in Kangbashi District.
The bridge consists of a main floating body that supports three extended walkways and a carbon fiber sail. The sail can be folded into multiple overlapping sections, supporting a hydraulically operated substructure at the top of the walkway.
The bridge can be anchored along the quayside, moved to any location along the river, or permanently anchored using a caisson foundation, a waterproof structure that serves as a bridge pier. The caisson foundation can be either floating or submerged, providing stability to the bridge.
The anchor system also helps prevent the bridge from drifting. Flexible walkways can adjust to different docks, extending across the river and folding back.
"This floating rotating bridge opens up a new form of bridge that can combine movement and flexibility like a sailboat," Krasojevic shared.
