(Baonghean.vn) - With a total of 60,000 laying hens in the commune, including 40,000 Egyptian chickens, supplying approximately 45,000 eggs to the market daily, many farms in Dien Trung, Dien Chau earn tens of millions of VND per month.

In Dien Trung, there are 162 chicken farms, of which 119 have been awarded VietGAP certification. In recent years, households have introduced high-egg-laying chicken breeds and Egyptian breeds, bringing in high incomes.
For the past two years, Ms. Pham Thi Huong's family in Hamlet 8 has been raising 1,000 Egyptian laying hens. According to her, this breed is less prone to disease, reduces feed costs by 10% compared to other breeds, and produces large, flavorful eggs with plenty of yolk, making them popular with customers. Egyptian eggs are purchased at 2,800 VND per egg directly from her home. With 1,000 laying hens, she collects 700 eggs daily, earning a profit of 600,000 VND per day after deducting all expenses. On average, her family earns approximately 18 million VND per month.

Meanwhile, the family of Ms. Tran Thi An in Hamlet 10 raises 2,000 chickens, including 1,000 Egyptian chickens. This breed boasts an average egg-laying rate of over 80%. Each month, Ms. An's family earns 25-30 million VND from raising chickens. The chicken manure is also purchased by flower and vegetable growers, bringing in tens of millions of VND annually.
