High profits from raising Egyptian egg-laying chickens

(Baonghean.vn) - With a total flock of 60,000 laying hens in the commune, including 40,000 Egyptian chickens, supplying the market with about 45,000 eggs every day, many farms in Dien Trung and Dien Chau have an income of tens of millions each month.

Egyptian chicken breed is rated for high egg laying rate.

In Dien Trung, there are 162 chicken farms, of which 119 farms have been awarded VietGAP certificates. In recent years, households have introduced super egg chickens and Egyptian chickens to raise, bringing in high incomes.

For the past two years, Ms. Pham Thi Huong's family in Hamlet 8 has raised 1,000 Egyptian laying hens. According to her, this breed of chicken is less susceptible to diseases, and the cost of feeding is reduced by 10% compared to other breeds; the eggs are large, have lots of red feathers, are delicious, and are preferred by customers. Egyptian eggs are purchased at 2,800 VND/egg right at home. With 1,000 laying hens, she collects 700 eggs every day, and after deducting all expenses, she earns 600,000 VND/day. On average, her family earns about 18 million VND/month.

Egyptian chicken eggs are large and uniform, with high purchase price.

Meanwhile, Ms. Tran Thi An's family in Hamlet 10 raises 2,000 chickens, of which 1,000 are Egyptian chickens. In comparison, this breed of chicken has an average egg-laying rate of over 80%. Each month, Ms. An's family earns 25-30 million VND from raising chickens. Chicken manure is also purchased by flower and vegetable growers, bringing in tens of millions of VND per year.
