Eximbank's over-the-counter deposit interest rates in May 2025.
Vietnam Export Import Commercial Bank (Eximbank) has officially implemented a new deposit interest rate schedule for individual customers. Interest rates at the counter now range from 3.5% to 5.4% per year, applicable to terms from 1 month to 60 months, with interest paid at the end of the term.
In the short-term group, interest rates remained largely unchanged. Specifically, the 1-2 month term remained at 3.5%/year. The 3-5 month term was slightly adjusted up to 3.6%/year, an increase of 0.1 percentage point compared to before.
However, for terms of 6-11 months, interest rates have been slightly adjusted downwards to 4.9%/year, 0.1 to 0.2 percentage points lower than the previous month.
For 12-month and 15-month terms, the applicable interest rate is 5.1% per annum, a decrease of 0.1 to 0.3 percentage points. Meanwhile, longer terms such as 18 months, 24 months, and 60 months are currently offered at 5.4% per annum.
In particular, interest rates for 36-month and 60-month terms were sharply increased by 0.2 to 0.3 percentage points, indicating that Eximbank is stepping up efforts to attract long-term capital.
Eximbank online deposit interest rates in May 2025
In May 2025, Eximbank continued to maintain higher preferential interest rates for online deposits compared to deposits made at the counter. The online interest rate schedule, effective from May 5th, ranges from 4.0% to 5.7% per year, depending on the term and time of week the deposit is made.
From Monday to Friday, the interest rate payable at the end of the term is as follows:
1 month: 4.0%
6 months: 5.1%
12 months: 5.3%
24 months: 5.6%
36 months: 5.6%
In particular, Eximbank slightly increases online interest rates on Saturdays and Sundays:
1 month: 4.1%
6 months: 5.2%
12 months: 5.4%
24 months: 5.7%
36 months: 5.5%
In addition to interest paid at the end of the term, Eximbank also applies monthly interest rates, ranging from 3.9% to 5.5% per year, providing more flexible options for customers.
